It is that pressure which has caused mini storage in recent years to become insane in Hong Kong.

People here are not simply becoming just hoarders. They just do not have enough space in their physical sense to keep normal adult things any more. Suitcases, winter clothing, hobby and business supplies, remnants of childhood, all this now is a lot when you literally have hardly any room in your apartment to fit in a vacuum cleaner and a couple of coats.

A storage unit that is rented by one of my friends is used to store mainly the seasonal items. Until you think about it, that the fat winter blankets consume a half-bedroom cabinet by a run of an inch-square. The other friend of mine has camping equipments in his house since there is no other place where it can be at all but the one he is going to be walking over a tent every morning as he walks to the bathroom.

That has become rather a trite thing, to say the least.

The most intriguing is the way mini storage became more than just an added convenience to a survival gadget in the urban lifestyle. Self storage was a provisional action many years ago when there are transfers or refurbishment between sites. It has now become a part of the apartments of many renters.

Nearly as though one had borrowed some other construction a closet.

The housing prices, needless to say, are also mentioned in the story. It can be economically ridiculous to upgrade into a bigger apartment in Hong Kong. The renting price of a small storage is generally much lower than a relocation to a place including another room. It is now the only alternative that is left to most of them that they can afford to have breathing space without having to stretch their budgets.

And airing is as important as some may think.

Clutter alters the way a home is felt. Mini apartments are physically demanding because the time when shelves are set to capacity and the empty areas filled with boxes is a reality. Things like cleaning or cooking are also starting to take more time as there could be no occurrence where things do not have to be moved.

Mini storage does away with some of that friction.

The trend is even observed to be spreading even among the various age groups. The students do storage between semesters. It is used in young couples prior to their ability to cohabit. As soon as children are born, families rent larger apartments and they are immediately surrounded with strollers and toys and more small shoes to open a little shop.

And the coming up of internet companies.

It is astonishing to find that a large number of people in Hong Kong are now engaged in their side businesses in their houses. To retail cosmetic, clothes, electronics, handcrafts – it will need a space to store the inventory. Nothing could be compared to that image of a dusty warehouse, which people still have in their minds.

The humorous aspect is that majority of people no longer desire bigger houses. They simply desire their existing home work correctly. There’s a difference.

The apartment issue in Hong Kong developed a storage trend since residents became fed up with shoulder-to-shoulder living with all that they possess. When the items that are seldom utilized have been relocated, a small flat is so different.

And the floor is spacious. Cabinets close properly. The flat breathes a bit.
